BTS have had a very busy year so far, from releasing “Map Of The Soul: 7” Album which broke several records, and “Map Of The Soul 7: The Journey” which is a full Japanese language Album. They released their Chart topping single “Dynamite” which kicked off with breaking several YouTube records for its premier, release and the number of views. “Dynamite” also ranked no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two consecutive making BTS the first Korean singers to achieve such a feat. The song has stayed in the Top Ten on Billboard charts for 9 weeks, which is an impressive feat by itself.
According to Naver.com, BTS will be performing at the 2020 Melon Music Awards (MMA) which will be held in the first week of December as MMA WEEK online. This is line with the social distancing policy for COVID-19 prevention. ‘MMA’ will be celebrating its 12th anniversary this year. It is the largest pop music festival in Korea, that features top-notch singers in Korea who shined every year. BTS stages in previous years at the MMA (Melon Music Awards) have always been legendary with fan from around the world talking about their performances for day, months and even years.
Case in point was the 2019 MMA where BTS had an outstanding performance. Who can forget V, Suga, J-hope, Jungkook and Jimin’s intro dances, or Jin’s grand entry on the Trojan horse, then we had RM smacking the stake on the ground with the background exploding all around him. They gave the best “Dionysus” performance yet! Apart from that exceptional performance, BTS won a total of four grand prizes, including album, artist, best song, and record, as well as TOP10, Kakao Hot Star Award, Netizen Popularity Award, and Male Dance Award!
