BTS WINS Big AT THE 2020 MTV EMA AWARDS

BTS have their first win at the 2020 MTV EMA Awards. They have won in the category “Biggest Fans” The full event is slated to take place today 8th November at 7pm EST in the USA. BTS had been nominated in 5 categories. BTS now becomes the artist with the highest number of wins in this category after winning for 3 consecutive years. They have won it from 2018 to 2019, and now in 2020. Congratulations BTS!

BTS fans ARMY, short for Adorable Representative MC for Youth was created in order to connect with fans and as a good way to create a presence and foster relationships with their fans. It added a certain level of intimacy for anyone who’s a fan of the band. This extremely dedicated, organized, and kind fan base are collectively brought together because BTS music & messages transcends all barriers.

On Twitter ARMY is 30 million followers, on Instagram 30.6 million followers. BTS are the most subscribed male Korean IDOL on YouTube with 46.4 million. BTS ARMY set a new record for most used hashtag on Twitter in 24 hours, #TwitterBestFandom achieved 60,055,339 uses from 16-17 March 2019. When BTS donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter, in just over 24 hours, a team of ARMY, called One in an Army, had raised $1,026,531 thanks to 35,609 donors, through the hashtag #MatchAMillion.  One in an Army is a group of volunteers who use the fandom’s collective power to make a difference. BTS were nominated against:

BTS hit single “Dynamite” has won “Best Song” at this year’s 2020 MTV EMA Awards! BTS “Dynamite” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the band’s first number-one single in the United States and making BTS the first all-South Korean act to top the Hot 100. The song sold 265,000 downloads in its first week, marking the biggest pure sales week. “Dynamite” debuted with 7.778 million streams, marking the biggest opening-day for a song in 2020. “Dynamite” peaked at number one on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, topping the latter for three consecutive weeks. According to reports by Spotify, BTS listeners have increased by a whopping 300% since they released their latest song “Dynamite”. BTS were nominated against:

BTS bagged another great win as the “Best Group” at the 2020 MTV EMA Awards. BTS’ RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—co-writes and co-produces much of their own output. Originally a hip hop group, their musical style has evolved to include a wide range of genres. Their lyrics, often focused on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work features references to literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline. The group has released several albums and performed on several world tours. BTS’ “Dynamite” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group’s first number-one single in the US and their fourth top-10 entry. BTS became the first all-South Korean act in Hot 100 history to debut at number one. They also became the first Asian act to chart a number one song in the country. BTS were nominated against:
