AGUST D’S ‘D-DAY’ ALBUM DEBUTS AT #1 ON THIS WEEK’S TOP ALBUMS CHART, HIS FIRST ALBUM TO ACHIEVE THIS MILESTONE

 


Aust D’s album has topped the Billboard Album Chart! “D-DAY” album by Agust D, sold a total units 140K units of which pure sales were 122K (physicals + digitals). Agust D, better known as SUGA of BTS, released “D-Day” his official album. As the third work in a trilogy that also includes the mixtapes Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020), it was released on April 21, 2023.

The album, which has ten songs, also has appearances by Woosung of the Rose, IU, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and J-Hope, a bandmate from BTS. In order to promote the project, two singles were made available: “People Pt. 2” starring IU on April 7 and “Haegeum,” which debuted in conjunction with the album. Both singles were accompanied by music videos, and on April 24 a third one for the song “Amygdala” was made available.

The Hanteo Chart shows that “D-DAY” sold 1,072,311 copies globally on its first day, breaking Jimin of BTS’s previous record of 1,021,532 copies for his debut solo album Face on its release day in March. After Jimin, Agust D is the second Korean solo artist to reach one million first-day sales on the Hanteo Chart.

“D-DAY” debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 in the United States with 140,000 album-equivalent units, including 122,000 sales of pure albums (of which 90% were CD sales). Suga’s first top-10 album in the US is this one.
