TS’ RM will be appointed the ambassador for the Ministry of National Defense’s excavation team on June 1st. This team’s goal is to find & identify remains of war veterans from the Korean War (1950-1953) & provide peace to their families. The Ministry of National Defense’s Remains Excavation and Inspection Commission is an organization that exhumes the remains of Korean War dead and sends them back to their families. RM participates in public relations activities to inform the public about the excavation of the remains in various ways. With the statement, “Today’s youth are the generation that is walking forward by saying “welcome” rather than being intimidated by change,” BTS sent a message to fill their daily lives with positive energy even in the challenging situation caused by COVID-19 at the time. BTS attended the United Nations meeting as the President’s Special Envoy for Future Generations and Culture and as the world’s youth representative in 2021.
In the same year, he also declared on social media that he was “sincerely outraged” by the anti-Asian prejudice brought on by COVID-19 and took action against the problem of prejudice and hate. BTS also met with American President Joe Biden and discussed ways to address hate crimes against Asians, thus BTS became the first K-pop group to visit the White House last year 2022.
