BTS’ J-HOPE’S SOLO ALBUM “JACK IN THE BOX” SURPASSED 500 MILLION STREAMS ON SPOTIFY

 


j-hope’s first official solo album “Jack in the Box” released on July 15, 2022 surpassed half a billion streams on Spotify. There are ten songs on the album, including the lead single “More,” which was released before it on July 1, and the follow-up single “Arson,” which was also released that day along with a music video. The album wasn’t made available in the standard CD format. Jack in the Box, an album that was once exclusively accessible digitally, peaked at number one in 17 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

“Jack In The Box” debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 17 in the United States, number 3 in Japan, and number 11 in South Korea. The Korea Music Content Association (KOMCA) awarded the album a platinum certification after it sold over 470,000 copies in its first week of availability. A limited vinyl edition was released in version was released in December 2022.

The album earned j-hope entries on several Billboard charts in the United States. It debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart issue dated July 30 (for the tracking week ending July 21) with 25,000 units sold, his second and highest entry on the ranking

j-hope released his first solo mixtape, “Hope World,” on March 2, 2018. It peaked at number 38 on the US Billboard 200 and made him the highest-charting Korean soloist on the ranking at the time.

The members of BTS would be giving their respective music projects greater focus moving forward, according to RM, who made the announcement on June 14, 2022, during the YouTube premiere of the group’s ninth anniversary dinner. Future projects would not be published as free or unpromoted mixtapes, but rather as paid albums with full promotional campaigns. Following that, J-Hope was formally introduced by BTS’ record company, BIGHIT MUSIC, as the group’s first member to start doing solo promotions.

On July 14, 2022, j-hope hosted a private listening event for the album at the Hybe offices in Yongsan. BTS members Jin, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook as well as Hybe CEO Bang Si-hyuk and a number of the rapper’s close pals who work in the dance and music sectors, including Tiger JK, Yoon Mi-rae, Uhm Jung-hwa, Heize, Jessi, Hyuna, Sunmi, Simon Dominic, Loco, and Sokodomo, were also present.
