In an Instagram teaser posted on Saturday, BTS's official account gave fans a sneak peek into V's upcoming track, "FRI(END)S." The clip featured the K-pop sensation, building anticipation for the release of his latest musical creation. This comes on the heels of V's solo debut, "Layover," in 2023, which showcased tracks like "Love Me Again," "Rainy Days," and "Slow Dancing."

However, the excitement is tinged with a touch of melancholy, as V, also known as Taehyung, is currently serving his mandatory military enlistment in South Korea. The hiatus is expected to keep the beloved K-pop group off the scene until 2025. In a heartfelt message to his fans, V expressed his sadness about the temporary separation and promised to return healthy after 18 months. He conveyed his deep affection for the ARMY, emphasizing how challenging it is not to be able to make happy memories with them during this time. V assured fans that he has prepared a lot during the 18-month hiatus and urged them to look forward to what's to come. The 28-year-old singer signed off with a sincere expression of love and gratitude to the ARMY. 

In December, Big Hit announced that the final four BTS members – RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook – are commencing their military enlistment process, following Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, who are already serving.
