Formerly known as the Bangtan Boys, BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts) is a boy band from South Korea that was founded in 2010. A large portion of the content produced by the band is co-written or co-produced by Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Originally a hip hop group, they have since broadened their musical style to include a variety of genres.
Their lyrics have primarily dealt with issues related to mental health, coming-of-age and school-age issues, loss, the path to self-love, individualism, and the negative effects of fame and recognition. Along with allusions to literature, philosophy, and psychology, their discography and related material also has an alternate universe plot.
